Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for performing engineering tasks within the Country Program following established standards and procedures. This position requires that the person resides either in Northern or Eastern Uganda. The position requires travel to remote locations within the respective region to carry out assessments, inspections, or training. .
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical direction and assistance for technicians, contractors, and volunteers in the field.
Provide onsite project management in support of approved projects. Conduct field inspections and site assessments as needed under the direction of the Lead Engineer and or WASH Manager.

Maintain regular contact with supervisors and stakeholders through timely reporting.
Perform engineering tasks including water hydraulic design calculations, and development of plans, specifications, and structural drawings.
Conduct engineering field work and design according to the established engineering principles and standards to a high degree of excellence and dependable accuracy.
Layout and design of water systems including source, pumping, treatment, storage and distribution.
Perform assessments in communities, including water quality and quantity testing, survey measurements and other aspects as may be required.
Write proposals and apply for grants.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Preference will be given to Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical degrees.
Post Graduate Degree in Project Planning and Management Corporate Member with UIPE.
Five years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering
Experience in proposal and grant writing. Practical experience in project management.
Personal and living relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior.

Advanced skills with office computer programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Luganda/Lusoga/Luo).
