Job Summary
Siemens is searching for a Senior Sales Engineer or Executive for Electrification and Automation (EA) Portfolio – Automation and Substation Control System to join our sales team for vertical focus on electrical power distribution projects in Malaysia. This candidate will work directly with End Users (Utilities, Oil &Gas, Industrial, Private sectors), Consultants, EPCs, M&E Contractors and various sale channels with the task to exceed sales targets for the Siemens EA portfolio from these channels.
The successful candidate shall have a proven track record of closing both new electrical distribution opportunities as well as brownfield projects with End Users, EPCs, and M&E Contractors. They will ideally have established relationships with commercial and technical disciplines within an existing customer base with which they will be able to leverage to position Siemens to win business.
The candidate will have working knowledge of the Siemens’ EA portfolio with which they will effectively promote and market the entire Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) EA systems portfolio including medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, Electrical Grid Protection Devices and Substation Control Systems, digital-grid and micro-grid solutions, generator circuit breakers, IoT solution and LV busway to the correct sales channel. Additionally, experience in Customer Service and Electrical Packaged Solutions will be added advantages.
The candidate shall be an independent, self-starter, highly motivated with expertise to work effectively in a matrix organization. They shall be proactive and work effectively with diverse teams to win targeted projects.
The candidate shall be skilled in sales negotiation and able to close deals with integrity. Furthermore, they will be able to formulate, implement and execute business plans. They shall have a collaborative mindset that is able to not only work with different functions and teams within the same business unit but also across multiple Business Units within Siemens to form effective working relationships to gain internal support and achieve mutual shared success.
The position will report to Head of Sales of EA Sales unit.
What are my job responsibilities?
Generate the leads in the assigned portfolio with targeting specific customer segment.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to ensure business goals are achieved according to the yearly sales target.
Collaborate with Local Sales Team and Siemens Business Units to capture opportunity transparency in the Malaysia market.
Possess and cultivate long-term relationships with key decision makers within the customer organization with spanning across procurement, engineering, operations and business development.
Connection with the C-level customer relationships are a plus points.
Support technical and engineering to the electrical consultants.
Track and update with targeted accounts and leads through use of Siemens cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM ) system.
The ability to guide and provide customer’s commercial terms requirement to the internal support team.
Lead and capture opportunities in the assigned vertical and collaborate within Siemens to promote the company as a unified entity to customers.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
3+ years of successful experience in sales to End Users in Malaysia (Utilities, Oil & Gas, Industrial, Private sectors), EPCs, and M&E Contractors.
Ability to engage with customers in the initial project development stage process such as budget, specification discussion, technical advice etc.
Experienced in Protection Devices and Substation Automation Controls of the electrical distribution network.
Identify key points and review on the RFQ, technical requirements and commercial terms.
Experience working with clients at executive and operations levels is a must.
Experience mapping out customer organizational structures and cover multiple office locations for sales plan execution and success.
Proven track record of sales pitch to secure the purchase order.
Able to provide sales presentation to various levels of customer.
Good negotiation skills.
Able to travel within Malaysia.
